UDT is a full-service CNC machine shop that has been supporting our military for over 50 years. We offer precision machining, welding, painting, assembly & disassembly, and pressure testing services.
Our mission is to not just meet your standards, but rather to consistently exceed them by providing the highest quality parts, on time and on budget.
UDT has been supporting the Department of Defense since 1969, specializing in prototyping and unique parts manufacturing for marine submersible and non-submersible watercraft, aircraft, and clinical applications. Included among the military systems supported with these efforts are the Seal Delivery Vehicles (SDV), Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC), clinical hyperbaric systems, diving vessels and chambers, explosive ordnance devices, aircraft and watercraft components, various Mission Modules (MM) for the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS), and components for the Gen II & III Mine Roller Systems.
UDT's original owner and founder, Mr. Jim Balsters had been involved with the Navy since his enlistment in 1944 as a Navy Submariner during World War II. In 1969, Mr. Balsters began manufacturing the first Seal Delivery Vehicle (SDV) MK-VII trainers and all of its associated hardware (e.g., components for the propulsion, ballast, electrical, guidance, and control systems). In 1980, UDT relocated from Orange County, California to Panama City, Florida to better serve Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City (NSWC PC), the home of the SDV program.
Whereas most of our customers are government, we also provide services to commercial clients.
